Jeremy Harrison grew up in the Meadow Lake area and graduated from Carpenter High School in 1996. Mr. Harrison went on to complete an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Canadian History from the University of Alberta, graduating in 2001. Mr. Harrison subsequently attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree in 2004. Mr. Harrison was called to the bar in April 2008. Mr. Harrison was successfully elected to Parliament on June 28, 2004, and at the age of 26 became one of the youngest Canadians ever to sit in the House of Commons. During his term Mr. Harrison became the youngest Canadian to ever chair a meeting of a Standing Committee of the House of Commons. Subsequent to the 2006 election Mr. Harrison served as a senior advisor in the federal Government. Mr. Harrison was first elected to the legislature in November 2007. Mr. Harrison has served as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Resources, Northern Resources and Oil Sands Development. Mr. Harrison was a member of the caucus' Standing Policy Committee on the Economy and was also a member of the legislature's Standing Committee on the Economy, as well as the committee on Public Accounts. Mr. Harrison is currently Minister of Enterprise, Minister Responsible for Trade and Deputy Government House Leader. Mr. Harrison and his wife Alaina, a school teacher, have one child, MacGregor. |
