Hon. Don Morgan

Saskatoon  Southeast

Don was born and raised in Saskatoon. He graduated from the College of Law, University of Saskatchewan, in 1978 and practiced law in Saskatoon from 1979 to 1988. Between 1988 and 1992, he was Chairman and CEO of Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission. From 1992 to the present, he has continued to practice law in Saskatoon.

 

Don served on the Saskatoon Public School Board from 1999 to 2003. During his term as Board Chair, he was instrumental in the decision to acquire and renovate the new School Board building which was brought in $1.5 million under budget. Don has always been active in the community. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Mendel Art Gallery and currently sits as a board member on the Mendel Art Gallery Foundation.

 

Don has volunteered for organizations as diverse as Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Red Cross, and United Way. He is active with the Retinitis Pigmentosa Research Foundation and as the founding president of the National Ride for Sight campaign, he has overseen the raising of more than one million dollars for this charity.

 

Don was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in November 2003. He and his wife Sandy are long-time residents of Saskatoon Southeast. Most recently re-elected in 2007, he serves as Minister of Justice and Attorney General and Minister of Saskatchewan Telecommunications. Don is a member of the Board of Internal Economy and the Vice-Chair of the caucus’ Legislation and Regulation Review Committee.
