Biography
Kevin was first elected to the Saskatchewan legislature in the November 2011 provincial election. Born in Rose Valley, Kevin Doherty’s parents Lenora and Mike still live on the family farm.
After graduating from Rose Valley High School, Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985.
In his professional life, he has worked as a division director for Investors Group (he was formerly a certified financial planner), the director of government relations for Bayer Healthcare, as well as the manager of provincial relations for GlaxoWellcome. Recently, Kevin served as the vice-president of corporate relations for SaskPower.
Kevin has a strong and diverse track record of community involvement. His service includes former president of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union; former member of the University of Saskatchewan board of governors; former vice-chair of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation; former member of the Regina Chamber of Commerce board of directors; and former president of the Saskatchewan Special Olympics.
Kevin enjoys spending time at the cabin in northern Saskatchewan, traveling, golfing, reading, motorcycling, and snowmobiling.
