The Lobbyists Act was proclaimed on August 23, 2016. The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists was established in 2015 to administer the Act. The mandate of the Office is to ensure that all lobbyists who are attempting to influence the decisions of provincial public office holders will register their activities associated with their lobbying efforts in the registry database.
The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists is responsible for establishing and operating the province’s lobbyist registry, ensuring the compliance of lobbyists, providing education and outreach, and investigating complaints and offences under The Lobbyists Act.
