On October 31, 2018, the Legislative Assembly adopted two motions related to the appointment of Officers of the Legislative Assembly.
The Legislative Assembly appointed Ms. Mary McFadyen to an additional five-year term as the Ombudsman and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner of Saskatchewan.
The Ombudsman promotes and protects fairness and integrity in the design and delivery of government services. The Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner provides advice and support to public servants who are concerned about a wrongdoing or possible wrongdoing in their workplace.

The Assembly also appointed Mr. Ronald J. Kruzeniski, QC to an additional five-year term as the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Saskatchewan.
The Information and Privacy Commissioner oversees three Saskatchewan statutes which establish the access to information and privacy rights of citizens: The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and The Health Information Protection Act.
