
David Chan was elected MLA for Yorkton in 2024.
Prior to his election, David worked as a mental health counsellor for local First Nations, primarily focusing on youth and families.
David has previously worked in Chile and the Middle East as a project manager on behalf of Thompson Rivers University, and as a faculty member with Royal Roads University.
He has a B.Sc. in Math & Business from Thompson Rivers University, as well as an M.A. in Intercultural & International Communication from Royal Roads University. He also holds a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate, and is working towards a Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling.
As a volunteer, David has been involved with youth groups, as a tutor for Indigenous youth, and as an English instructor. He has also coached senior boys’ basketball, was a volunteer residential care worker, and sat on a board for parents of children with special needs.
He resides in Yorkton with his wife and their two daughters.
