Canadian Major Dailies The full text of Canadian news sources from over 20 of Canada's leading newspaper publishers. Newspapers include the Regina Leader Post, Saskatoon Star Phoenix, Calgary Herald, Globe & Mail, Ottawa Citizen, and Winnipeg Free Press.

Canadian Oxford Dictionary 2nd ed. (Use the search box in the left column of the page, "Search within work"). Combines coverage of international English with information on English as it is particularly used in Canada. Definitions are presented so that the meaning most familiar to Canadians appears first and foremost. 

Canadian Parliamentary Review A quarterly publication of the Canadian members of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Articles are searchable, and the online archive goes back to 1978. Free online.

Canadiana Online is a collection of 19 million pages of published monographs, serials, government publications, and more from a variety of libraries and institutions across Canada. Features published works from the time of the first European settlers up to the first two decades of the 20th Century.  The government publications collection includes over 1.7 million pages of pre-1920 colonial, provincial and federal (published) government documents. Also covers aboriginal studies, early Canadian periodicals, women's history, and documents on the history of the Hudson's Bay Company. Free online.

Country Analysis Advanced - Canada (EIU Viewpoint) Database presents a global and national outlook on the economic, political, and policy landscape through statistics, analysis, and forecasts from EIU experts. Reports, charts, and graphs provide economic analysis of industries and commodities. Includes industry coverage and country data for Canada.

CPI.Q - Canadian Periodicals (Gale OneFile) Provides full text of articles and reports from approximately 700 periodicals, with an emphasis on Canadian and international issues. Includes indexing for more than 1300 Canadian periodicals.

CQ Researcher Original reporting and analysis on issues in the news. Includes in-depth coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the economy. U.S. focus, but also covers international topics.

General OneFile (Gale) A large database with full-text for over 8,000 journals business and general interest journals. Coverage is from 1980 to the present. Includes The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Christian Science Monitor.

HeinOnline A fully-searchable legal research collection. Includes more than 3200 law journals, Canada Supreme Court Reports, Canadian Provincial Statutes (annual and revised), Statutes of Canada (annual and revised), U.S. Treaties, and more.

Historical Newspapers: Leader Post, 1883-2010 A digitized newspaper archive of the Regina Leader Post. Every issue includes the complete newspaper (articles, ads, and images), cover-to-cover, with full pages in a downloadable PDF format. Full-text, keyword searchable, using OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Also includes the Regina Sun (1986-2010).

I-Portal (Indigenous Studies Portal) A database of electronic resources such as articles, theses and documents as well as digitized materials such as photographs and archival resources with a focus on Indigenous peoples of Canada. A secondary focus is on Indigenous peoples of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. Hosted by the University of Saskatchewan. Wherever possible, the I-Portal links to open access/ freely available versions of resources. Free online. 

Irwin Law (vLex platform) Current titles / Archive The entire catalogue of this Canadian independent legal publisher is available electronically. Over 300 titles are included in this searchable eBook collection, and new titles and updated editions are added as they are published.

JSTOR Journals are always included from volume 1, issue 1. The most recently published issues (past 3-5 years) are not available, though you may be able to access them through a different database. The Legislative Library subscribes to five collections within JSTOR: Arts and Sciences I, II, IV, VI, VII Topics covered include economics, history, political science, sociology, business, education, law, public policy, and administration. Also includes Open Access articles and chapters from Open Access eBooks.

LawSource (Westlaw Canada) Access a wealth of Canadian primary law, plus commentary and value-added tools. Oxford Dictionaries Premium - English When searching, you may choose to search UK or US English. The UK English version of the site uses Oxford Dictionary of English and Oxford Thesaurus of English. The US English version of the site uses the New Oxford American Dictionary and the Oxford American Writers’ Thesaurus. Both English versions of the site, however, feature coverage of English from around the world.

Canadian Government Publications Portal
Internet Archive Canada, with advice and assistance from government and university librarians across Canada, have digitized more than 70,000 Canadian Government publications (federal and provincial). Some Saskatchewan publications are available, such as Public Accounts 1960 to 2006-07. Free online.
Canadian Parliamentary Historical Resources
The Library of Parliament, in collaboration with the Canadian Research Knowledge Network provides this searchable database of digitized federal parliamentary publications from the 1st Session of the 1st Parliament (1867) until coverage at and begins. The available publications are: debates, journals, committee documentation and bills of both the Senate and the House of Commons. It also contains the Senate Minutes of Proceedings, the Rules of the Senate, the House of Commons Votes and Proceedings, and the Standing Orders of the House of Commons. Historical sessional papers are also available from 1867 to 1901. Search or browse. Free online.

The statistical online platform of the OECD where users can search and access OECD’s statistical databases. Working within individual datasets, you can build tables and extract/download data. Topics include agriculture, economy, environment, finance, government, technology, labour, demographics. Free online.
OECD iLibrary
The online library of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) featuring its books, papers, podcasts and statistics and the knowledge base of OECD's analysis and data. Free online.

Paperity An aggregator site to search for open access journal articles on all subject areas, including science, technology, medicine, social science, humanities, and the arts.  It indexes only scholarly literature, and partners include EBSCO and WorldCat. Free online. 

PubMed Includes over 25 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. Includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources, but some sites will charge a fee for the articles. Searching PubMed is free online.

Science Online facilitates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) research and discovery by allowing users to locate information as well as evaluate and apply their findings. Users will find expertly researched content from encyclopedic references on core science areas and in-depth overview essays on key science topics. Access is provided courtesy of Saskatchewan's Multitype Library Board. 

The Sunday Times Historical Archive, 1822-2006 (Gale) Since 1822, The Sunday Times has provided analysis and commentary on the week's news and on society at large. Crime, theatre, sport and politics - all collide in its pages. This collection allows users to search a digitized edition. Theses Canada Portal The central access point for Canadian theses and information about the Theses Canada program, including a link to the search page. Free online.

United Nations iLibrary
An online collection providing access to thousands of books, reports, and journals created by the United Nations available to search and read online. (Click on the blue "Reader" button after finding a document.) Free online. (Downloads would require a subscription.)
