
Leroy Laliberte was first elected MLA for Athabasca in 2024. He is the opposition Shadow Minister for First Nations and Métis Relations, and he is a member of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice.
Leroy is originally from the Northern Village of Beauval. He was the community wellness manager for Flying Dust First Nation and the founder and director of Burn Youth/BURN Consulting.
Leroy has been involved in youth and community development for over 20 years and has worked with all levels of government to develop positive strategies effecting communities throughout Canada. He was co-chair of the North West Friendship Centre and was also on the advisory council to the College of Medicine/Indigenous Health at the University of Saskatchewan.
Leroy and his wife Diana have three children.
