Hugh Gordon was first elected MLA for Saskatoon Silverspring in 2024. He is the opposition Shadow Minister for Highways & Infrastructure, for SaskBuilds & Procurement, and for Saskatchewan Government Insurance. He is the opposition caucus military liaison, and a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.
Hugh was born in Regina and raised in St. Albert, Alberta. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1996, dedicating 24 years to serving the people of Saskatchewan. His postings took him to Spiritwood, North Battleford, and Saskatoon, where he became a specialist in financial investigations with the Commercial Crime Unit. He later worked in the Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit, tackling complex cases involving drugs, human trafficking, and national security.
Hugh and his wife have also owned and operated small businesses, including a private investigation firm, and understand the challenges and opportunities facing small business owners.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from the University of Alberta and Certificate in Business Administration from the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan.
Motivated by a deep sense of service, Hugh entered politics to strengthen mental health and addiction support for youth, improve healthcare and education, and address the rising cost of living for everyday families.
Hugh, Kim, and their two children, Connor and Sophie, have proudly called Saskatoon home since 2009.
