Biography

Jacqueline Roy is a lifelong advocate for education, community, and strong public institutions. Born and raised in Regina, she completed her primary education in French before earning a Bachelor of Arts (High Honours) and a Bachelor of Education (Great Distinction) from the University of Regina, where she developed a deep commitment to ethics and democracy, thanks to strong teachers and professors.

An accomplished debater, Jacqueline competed across Western Canada as a member of the University of Regina Debate Society, against teams from Canada and the United States. This experience reinforced the importance of seeing both sides of a story, collaboration, and thorough research.

Her leadership and academic excellence earned her several awards, including the U of R Alumni Association Leadership Award, Campion College’s Nash Scholarship, and recognition from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

A dedicated educator and advocate, Jacqueline served for over a decade as an STF Councillor, advocating for Saskatchewan teachers and quality public education during critical bargaining years. Her passion for public service extends beyond the classroom—she and her husband, both proud Reginans, actively volunteer with local and provincial community initiatives.

In her spare time, Jacqueline enjoys swimming and volunteering with the Regina Masters Swim Club, where she occasionally competes, and embracing Saskatchewan’s winters by skiing through the province’s scenic parks.
