Kim Gartner was first elected as the MLA for Kindersley-Biggar in the 2024 provincial election.
He currently serves as Minister of Highways. Kim was previously a member of Treasury Board, the cabinet Committee on Government Operations, and the Standing Committee on Human Services. He also served as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Finance.
Before being elected he served as the chief administrative officer for the Town of Macklin for over 30 years. He has served as president of the Urban Administrators Association of Saskatchewan, board member for the Living Sky School Division, and chair of the SUMAssure Insurance Reciprocal. Among his educational accomplishments is a Senior Certificate in Local Government Administration from the University of Regina and a Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning.
Kim was raised on a family farm a short distance east of Macklin. He and his wife Colleen have four children and seven grandchildren. He has been a dedicated community member, devoting significant time to numerous volunteer and charitable causes.
