Biography

Noor Burki was first elected as the MLA for Regina Coronation Park in 2023. He serves as the opposition critic for immigration.

Noor was born and raised in Pakistan. He received a Master's degree in Computer Science from Quaid Azam University and began his career as a software engineer & project manager. In 2002, Noor served as an IT consultant for the United Nations in Ghana, Africa. 

Having immigrated to Canada in 2003, Noor moved to Saskatchewan in 2008. Here, he established a successful business wherein he provided driver education services to six different school divisions, and many First Nation schools. Apart from the high school system, Noor ran driver education programs in partnership with Regina Street Culture Project, Regina Open Door Society (RODS), and Paul Dojack Youth Centre (PDYC). Noor served as an executive member of the Saskatchewan Driver Educator Association for 4 years.

Noor is a father, educator, small business owner and a dedicated member of the Regina community. He has lived in Regina Coronation Park since 2008 with his wife, Shamim, and their seven children.

Making a meaningful difference in the lives of those he serves is a core value of Noor’s. As a result, he has been involved in many community organizations including Spring Free from Racism, the Pakistan Canada Cultural Association (PCCA), Darul Falah Islamic Centre and the Canadian Pakistani Pakhtoon Community Association. Noor is a mentor to newcomers by supporting them in their settlement and job search.
