Aleana Young was elected MLA for Regina University in 2020. She is the Opposition Deputy House Leader and critic for Economy and Jobs, Immigration, Trade and Export Development, SaskBuilds, Central Services, Saskatchewan Government Insurance, and SaskPower.
Aleana is respected community leader and a small business owner operating a cheese shop in Regina’s Cathedral neighbourhood. Prior to entering entrepreneurship, she studied at McGill where she completed a BA Honours and MA. She worked in municipal development, the energy and environmental sectors, and post-secondary.
She served as a School Board Trustee with Regina Public from 2012 to 2020, and as Vice President of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association from 2016 to 2020. Aleana is active in the community, and served as the VP of Family Service Regina, member of Regina's Downtown Business Improvement District, and a member of the University of Regina Senate. She works to support other local entrepreneurs and women in small business.
Aleana is a new mom to baby Hara, and she and her husband are avid readers who enjoy camping, the outdoors, and culinary adventures.
