Biography

Ken was first elected as an MLA in northeast Saskatoon in 2003. He was re-elected in the 2007, 2011, 2016, 2020 provincial elections.

Ken was a cabinet minister in the governments of Premier Brad Wall and Premier Scott Moe for 12 years. He held responsibilities as Minister of Crown Corporations; Enterprise; Trade; Environment; Parks, Culture & Sport; First Nations and Métis Relations, Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, and the Public Service Commission.

Ken has also served as Government House Leader in the Assembly.

Ken served as chair of the Build Committee, overseeing the construction and financing of the Mosaic Stadium, working closely with the Government of Saskatchewan, the City of Regina, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Ken has served as vice president of the World Junior Hockey Championship in Saskatoon and on the executive of the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon and Regina.

Ken holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics and Political Science and a Masters of Business Administration. He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course and various senior financial courses and certificate programs.

Prior to being elected, Ken was an entrepreneur, starting a business in sports memorabilia, food distribution, and real estate development. He also worked with Western Economic Diversification, assisting individual businesses and industries grow and expand.

Ken and his wife Trish have raised their son Carter and daughter Paige in Saskatoon, and the entire family is very active in several community organizations and activities.
