Biography

Matt Love was elected MLA for Saskatoon Eastview in 2020. He is the opposition critic for Municipal Affairs, Tourism, Seniors, Ethics and Democracy, and Parks, Culture and Sport. He is also the opposition Deputy Caucus Chair.

Matt and his wife Emma live in Eastview where they are raising their three children, Etta, Tom and Myles.

As a teacher with Saskatoon Public Schools, Matt spent the last decade building a brighter future for his family, students, and community. In 2014, he received a CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 Award for his leadership and innovation as an educator and coach. Matt was the teacher of a unique program that explored Arts Education, Social Studies and English with a focus on social justice and current events.  His students became involved in the community through a weekly radio show, a weekly newspaper opinion column, and activities outside the classroom.  Matt also contributed to his school community as a GSA facilitator, senior football coach, and leader in other areas of athletics.

As a coach and teacher, Matt has worked to foster teamwork and leadership, and his experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds to get the job done makes him well equipped to be a great advocate and representative for Saskatoon Eastview.
