
Born and raised in the Prince Albert area, Alana completed her high school and then went on to raise her family and work full-time while attending the University of Alberta for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She was an active volunteer and board member for several community organizations including 4-H, PA Exhibition Board, PA Rural School Division Board of Education, and she served as the Saskatchewan Party President for Prince Albert Northcote.
Prior to her election, Alana worked in the health care sector for over 30 years as a front-line nurse with a combined 15 years as part of a management team. Alana was a unit union representative and post-secondary instructor.
Alana is a proud mother to three grown children, proud grandmother to one grandson, and she continues to reside in Prince Albert Northcote.
First elected as the MLA for Prince Albert Northcote in the 2020 provincial election, Alana is currently the Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, Minister responsible for the Status of Women, Minister responsible for SLGA, and Minister responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan.
She previously served as Legislative Secretary for the Forestry Sector and deputy government Whip, and she was a member of the Treasury Board, Economy committee, Board of Internal Economy, caucus Management Committee, Premier’s Commendation Award Committee, Standing Committee on Private Bills, Standing Committee on Privileges, and House Services Committee.
