On April 6, the Assembly adopted a report of the House Services committee which defines the days and times of the current sitting, as well as procedural changes to protect members’ health and safety. The modifications outlined below are in place from April 6 to October 1, 2021.

Sitting Days and Times

The Assembly has agreed to a 30-day sitting period with a May 14, 2021 completion day. For the first week of this sitting, the Assembly will sit from Tuesday, April 6 to Saturday, April 10, 2021. For the remainder of the sitting, the Assembly will meet Monday to Friday. Once the Assembly has concluded its budget debate, government business will be considered Monday through Thursday, and private members’ business will be considered on Fridays.

For the week of April 6:

  • Tuesday 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (recess from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
  • Wednesday to Friday 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

April 12 to May 14:

  • Monday and Tuesday 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (recess from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
  • Wednesday and Thursday 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Health and Safety

Due to the evolving conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Assembly adopted several new safety measures and procedural changes in June and December 2020 (see below for links). Many of these changes remain in place, and the Assembly has adopted additional measures for this sitting.
