Biography

Marv Friesen was born in Saskatoon and grew up in the Riversdale neighbourhood. In his late 20's he jumped into entrepreneurship, owning and operating Marv's Place Auto Repair for over 25 years. From an early age, Marv has spent his free time volunteering with various organizations focused on helping kids thrive in their community. 

Marv decided to run for the Saskatchewan Party in the Saskatoon Riversdale riding in 2014. He ran in the 2016 election, and was elected on October 24, 2020 after years of dedication in the constituency. He has served on various boards and committees, such as Human Services, Public Accounts, Red Tape Reduction, and Caucus Management. In 2022, he was appointed the Legislative Secretary for Parks, Culture, and Sport.

Recently, Marv founded Rides by Marv's, a not-for-profit organization that collects and repairs new or gently used bikes and distributes them to people in need. Since its inception, Rides by Marv's has given hundreds of bikes to kids, their parents, recent immigrants, and others in unique situations. 

Marv is the proud father of Danielle, Morgan, and Christopher and lives in the Riversdale constituency.
